3 Landmarks You Must See in Costa Brava

1. Village Medieval de Pals
If you have ever been curious as to what an ancient Medieval village looked like, you’ll definitely want to check out the Village Medieval de Pals. You can sign up for a tour or just explore the village yourself. There is a nearby beach if you want to spend some time in the sun, but afterward, head up the hill to this amazing village. You’ll find beautiful historical buildings, learn what life was like when the city was thriving, do a little bit of shopping, and maybe grab a meal and a drink. Not to mention the gorgeous views and photos you’ll take. This is great for kids, couples, groups, or just going solo. But if you’re in Costa Brava, you’ll definitely want to include this as one of your stops!

2. Castillo de San Juan
What was once a stunning castle, the Castillo de San Juan is now nothing more than ruins, though you can view the single remaining tower. And while the Castillo does warrant a visit if you wish to learn what it was like when it was still in use and the history of the area, the real reason you’ll want to take the long climb up the hill is to get one of the most amazing panoramic views of Costa Brava that you’ll ever see. Make sure you bring your camera because this is one spot you won’t want to miss!

3. Roses Citadel
If you love history, you’ll want to explore the Roses Citadel. Once the site of a 11th-century Citadel, these ruins make you feel like you are taking a walk through history. Across the street from a beautiful beach, this site offers hours of learning and entertainment. Not only can you learn about the history of the Citadel, you can check out a museum, sporadically various exhibitions, and the occasional event such as a concert. This is a great place to walk around and enjoy the beautiful architecture and surrounding area.

Now that you’ve seen some of the histories of Costa Brava, you can head back to your vacation rental for a nice evening in with a drink, a snack, and maybe a good book!
