Menorca Cathedrals

It is hardly surprising that on the beautiful island of Menorca you can find a number of churches, cathedrals and religious spots. Ciutadella Cathedral This mighty building is located in the island town of Ciutadella, and is arguably one of the most impressive pieces of architecture on the island. Originally, the cathedral was built on the site of an ancient mosque, however was badly damaged in the 16th century by a fire, so had to be remodelled. The building is filled with so much detail, be it the stone carvings or the Neo-Gothic canopy, the outcome is very impressive. It is sometimes better to step back and take a look at the city from above, and there are a number of viewpoints that will provide some spectacular views of the city and beyond. Bunkers del Carmel Over the years, Bunkers del Carmel has become a popular hangout for friends and loved ones to relax and watch the sunset. It is location of where the military stationed anti-aircraft artillery during the Spanish Civil War, and once you reach the viewpoint, it becomes clear why this lofty location was chosen. Not only can you get views over the whole city, there is also often a great atmosphere. Tibidabo Located at the back of the city, Tibidabo is one of the many mountains that traps the city between it and sea. This is one of the best-known v
